This past weekend we were fortunate to have been hosted by Hotel Indigo here in town. I had been in the hotel before but have never stayed so I was really excited to see what it was all about. Let me start off by saying, if you’re a Memphian or looking to travel to Memphis, go stay at Hotel Indigo. Y’all, I’ve lived here my entire life and have never felt so cultured. I don’t know if it’s the retro vibes, the hospitality, or location, but Carrigan and I left there blown away! I have never felt more a part of the city than I did leaving there that day. It’s filled with historic rhythm and blues and it flows into a modern style with luxury touches like Aveda bath products.
After checking in on Friday night, we settled into our room and headed downstairs to The Lounge. Now this was right up my ally because I LOVE the 20’s and this had every bit of speakeasy flair but with a Retro 70’s vibe. It’s tucked away down the stairs of the 3rd Court Diner that is located at the hotel. They are open Thursday-Sunday and feature live entertainment! You can check out there Instagram for more information here.
We finished the night by heading back upstairs to our room where we ordered our favorite Aldo’s pizza and watched reruns of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. It was a much needed night away where we could relax, not have any responsibilities, eat pizza, and just enjoy being together without any distractions!
The next morning we woke up and headed down to the diner before checkout. We were really excited to try it because we are huge fans of Sunrise and heard they were the same owners. The diner was super cute and convenient. It was packed when we got in there so we had to wait a little bit but it wasn’t too bad. There was a Tiger game so everyone and their brother and sister were trying to get breakfast before the game. Probably not the best of timing but we had all day so we didn’t mind! The menu was very much like a typical diner style with breakfast, sandwiches, salads, etc. I love breakfast food so I went with a classic breakfast sandwich and potatoes. Carrigan had the biscuits & gravy and raved about them!
All in all a great experience.
Thank you again Hotel Indigo for having us, it was the perfect little Staycay that we needed! Y’all can learn more about the hotel on there website here or follow them on Instagram @hotelindigomemphis .
